First off, let's introduce the judges of this contest and their styles of play.

Be sure to include in your entree post your intended style of play as we want to make sure that it is correctly judged.
The roles of these judges are to pre-filter all sims that don't follow the rules and expectations below.
As an additional note, all judges may not enter the simfile contest.
Contest Theme: Instrumental music

Here are rules of which all entered simfiles must follow.
*Keep in mind that some rules of this contest will not be universally true for contests in the future.
1. The simfile must be 1 to 3 minutes long. Any simfiles that does not fit within this time frame will not be accepted or judged.
2. Videos in the simfile are not allowed(no exceptions).
3. A limit of up to two simfiles can be submitted per person. Entering more through other ways such as additional accounts will result in disqualification.
4. Keyboard and pad simfiles will be grouped together, so be aware of that.
5. All contest discussion will take place in the seperate SMO simfile contest #1 discussion thread.
6. Every submission will be judged by the stepmaniaonline.eu staff. The top choices from the staff will be announced in a thread containing a download link with the simfiles.
7. The submission process will last a month. After that, the judging will take place and the choices will be posted within two weeks.
8. After this, the smo community will have a week to vote on their favorite simfile by again private messaging their choice to this account(Subject: SMO Contest #1 vote).
*You aren't allowed to vote for your own!
9. Once the voting deadline has arrived, the staff will announce the winner as well as the placement of the following simfiles.
It is suggested that the simfile is presented with a proper banner, background, etc. Although the staff is judging on the steps only, the community may take other factors into mind when voting.
